MEET MEGAN & PAT
Where it All Began
Deep Southwest, Meg and Pat Whalen, are a comedy/country duo that began singing out the back of their truck during lockdown in covid. They have been featured on CBC, Canada’s Got Talent and their musical comedy TV series is currently streaming on Bell Fibe TV1. Their track “Fresh Meat” is featured in the thriller of the same name coming to movie theatres in the fall/winter of 2025. Deep Southwest songs range from classic country ballads to hick hop rap tracks. The band's first album “Deep Southwest” is available on vinyl and all streaming platforms.

We’re rooted in Southwestern Ontario, and our music is a mashup of country, Canadiana, hick hop and acoustic feel-good tunes.
Megan Whalen
Megan has performed across Canada and the U.S. in theatre productions, most notably as Liesl in the award-winning Andrew Lloyd Webber revival of The Sound of Music (Toronto Mirvish). In 2022, she received the Talk Is Free Theatre educational grant for digital theatre and was a 2023 finalist for the Cayle Chernin Award for Theatre Development. As one-half of Deep Southwest she wrangles Pat into trouble and writes for their series “Deep Southwest”.
Patrick Whalen
Patrick developed and starred in Spank! The Fifty Shades Parody in collaboration with Second City and Just for Laughs, which toured across Canada, the U.S. (including Las Vegas, L.A., NYC), and Europe. These days, he’s writing songs, cracking wise, and chasing pizza-festival glory as one-half of Deep Southwest.
